Healthy Fudge Recipe
Candy does not always have to be BAD for you! Sometimes candy is just plain ok, especially when you make your own. I love this plant-based healthy fudge recipe because of its low sugar content. Also a little piece goes a long way to satisfy a sweet tooth. Honestly if you are already a healthy family you might make these and get a “but are we supposed to be eating this” look! If you are like me you love that look, I strive for it! It is my goal with every recipe to make food look, taste and be enjoyed as if it were bad for you…but its not…shhhhh!
Healthy Fats
This simple candy recipe is full of healthy fat nutrients. The almond and coconut butter ingredients are great plant based fats with healthy monounsaturated fats. Then we have a bit of coconut oil that will hold everything together and make it easy to metabolize and digest! Little sweetness to satisfy the brain and taste buds and we have a great little treat you can feel good about giving your body and your families bodies!
Coconut Almond Fudge Recipe
½ cup almond butter
½ cup coconut butter
¼ cup dark chocolate chips
2 tbsp maple syrup
1 tbsp coconut oil
¼ tsp sea salt
½ tsp vanilla
¼ tsp almond extract
In a saucepan combine all the ingredients. Place pan on medium heat. Stir until all the ingredients are melted and combine. Pour into molds and store in the freezer to set. Will take 1-2 hours to set-up. Keep refrigerated.
NOTE: You can eliminate the dark chocolate chips if you want and get a great fudge feel without the chocolate color. I love adding pecans, walnuts, chia seeds or fine coconut to mine for a variety in each batch. You can freeze these little treats for up to 3 months but they will never last that long!
