Sausage Fig Pizza
I bet in 1892 the people who invented the fig newton cookie would have never guessed that a sausage fig pizza would ever be a thing! It’s not only a thing…it’s a delicious thing. I believe in uncomplicated food that is easy to make, looks like it took you all day but it didn’t and has a function in your body as nutrients and positive fuel. This sausage fig pizza can fill your eyes with delight and your belly with goodness!

Easy pizza using wholesome ingredients. Incredibly bold flavors from savory to slightly sweet. A not to be missed delight for any pizza night!
- 2 full pieces Naan Bread, I choose whole grain can use gluten free crust
- 1 tsp fresh garlic, minced
- 1 tbs fresh rosemary, minced
- 3 tbs olive oil
- 1 tbs ghee or butter
- 1 medium yellow onion, sliced thin
- 1/2 lb cooked ground turkey sausage can use pork sausage
- 1 cup fresh spinach
- 1/4 cup soft cashew cheese with herbs I use Treeline Tree Nut Cheese
- 1 cup sliced dried figs
- 2 tsp fresh parsley, chopped

Preheat oven to 350°. Line a baking sheet with parchment. Place both Naan bread crust on the baking sheet.

In a bowl mix garlic, rosemary and olive oil. Use a brush to spread evenly on each crust.

Bake for 5 minutes, until slightly crisp. Remove from oven and set aside.

In a skillet heat ghee over a medium heat. Add onions to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes until soft and brown.

Add precooked turkey sausage to the skillet to heat. Then add spinach and stir until wilted.

Spread cashew cheese evenly on each of the Naan crust. Leave a 1-inch border around the edges for the pizza just like a pizza crust.

Divide the onion and sausage mixture evenly on each crust over the cheese.

Divide the dried figs and add them to the top.

Bake for 5-7 minutes. Remove and top with fresh parsley. Let pizza sit for 2-3 minutes before cutting into four pieces.
